Following the opening remarks by Richard Seeber, Director of the Tyrolean Representation in Brussels, Patrick Skoniezki, Co-Lead of EUSALP Action Group 4 (EGTC European Region Tyrol–South Tyrol–Trentino), presented the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) and highlighted the Austrian–Liechtenstein Co-Presidency 2025.
Within this framework, Action Group 4 has published a report on energy efficiency potentials in the Alpine transport and mobility system, comparing the Brenner Corridor (Munich–Verona) and the Ventimiglia Corridor (Marseille–Genoa).
The report provides valuable insights into the current state of road and rail corridors and offers policy recommendations to enhance energy efficiency.

Sarah Drexler from the European Commission (Directorate-General MOVE) provided insights into the Commission's draft for the new Multiannual Financial Framework 2028-2034 (MFF) from a transport policy perspective. She explained how the funding programs in the transport sector are embedded in the new budget structure and what priorities can be set for future funding.
Jakob Lohmann, also from DG MOVE, presented the Clean Transport Corridor Initiative, complemented by additional remarks from Felix Hauer of the Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU.
