Since 2011, the Representation of the European Region Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino in Brussels has been organising the Euregio Brussels School on an annual basis. This summer school offers students enrolled in master’s degree programmes a direct and hands-on experience to gain first-hand insight into the work of the European institutions. The initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Euregio Joint Representation in Brussels and the Universities of Trento, Bozen/Bolzano and Innsbruck.
During the week in Brussels, as well as in the preparatory meetings held beforehand, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the functioning of EU bodies, explore the European Quarter and engage in dialogue with politicians and senior officials. At the same time, they will be able to earn ECTS credits, recognised by their home universities, thereby enriching their academic path and strengthening their professional profile.
Thanks to this initiative, master’s students, including those participating in Erasmus+ programmes, can effectively combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Direct interaction with experts from the European institutions and key actors in the decision-making process generates significant added value and contributes to targeted preparation for future challenges in European policy. The Euregio Brussels School thus represents a key platform for the training of future European decision-makers.
