On 17-18 September 2019 the first meeting of the cross-border working groups of Fit for Cooperation (Fit4Co) took place in Toblach/Dobbiaco in South Tyrol in Italy. Fit4Co is an Interreg Italy-Austria project, with the aim to assists public administrations in working out a common project with a partner on the other side of the border.

So far 18 tandems (with at least one partner from Austria and one partner from Italy) have been formed. Participants of these tandems are civil servants of public administrations from municipalities, provinces, local actions groups (LAGs), state level adminsitration, but also some NGOs and associations. These tandems are assisted by 10 coaches, who offer their professional support in the elaboration of the cross-border project.

Topics cover a broad thematic range from improving the situation of migrant women over developping touristic networks and initiatives on the Via Claudia Augusta to a better exchange of workers in the European region.

The tandems will meet for several times and present their project idea in the summer of next year to administrators and the intersted public. The aim of the project is to assist administrations in developping well thought projects that improve the life of citizens in the European region.
